Welcome to the January Newsletter Issue 3

 First we would like to wish you all a happy new year and hope everyone had a good break and enjoyed all the wine,beer and spirits they made.

 Now down to the news we have been busy trying to fulfill everyones needs so we have added more products to our list also there are some brand new products in wine and spirit due out within the next few weeks so please keep an eye on the web site for these.

Since we started to give good prices on hops we have expanded in your choice (3 new ones added) we now have 25 different hops and over the next year we will be adding more we also will be giving you free recipes for you to try some of the different types that we sell.We have also added some new malt to the range which is :-

Pale chocolate malt =  500g  0.79p  1kg  £1.48

Mild ale malt   =  500g  0.79p   1kg £1.48    ( these will appear on the site very soon )

Tipple pale malt  =  500g - 0.79p  1kg - £1.55  25kg - £32.99 this has a high extraction and is a spring grown malt (this is to replace cocktail malt that is no longer available)

Now on to the wines we have added a new 1 gallon fruity wine kit to our range,these have been on the market for quite some time now,so we decided to take the plunge and  offer our customers more choice in 1 gallon kits,also Cantina wine kits are now providing the juice in a bag rather than a plastic jerry can,there seems to be a small problem when opening the bag as the cap cannot be removed,a suggestion it to cut the corner of the bag but please be careful when doing so,we do still have some of the old style kits so please bear with us while these are still in stock

 Solomon grundy 6 bottle 7 day fruit wine kits these kits make 1 gallon of fruit wine, The pack contains the grape juice and additives needed to make a fantastic fruit wine in just 7 days, Started on Monday, drunk on Sunday, An addback pack is added at the end to give additional fruit flavour.

These are the flavours available :- Cherry , Elderflower , Elderberry , Strawberry , Bilberry

  Now the Beer news we have added a few kits and we have taken a few away,we have decide to no longer stock Morgans Chairmans selection and also Edme these can still be ordered if required.We have added a new dry beer kit this is ideal for the people who need a light weight kit for taking to other countries.We have also added a few more Fulstow full mash kits to the range 

  Hambleton bard dry beer kits have been fine tuned.It is no more difficult to make up a dry kits than any liquid kit. No boiling, no problems. and there light in weight around 1.4kg in weight per kit ideal for people who travel to dry countries just add sugar and water.

These are the new varieties :- 

Old English Bitter , Amber Export , Lager Supreme , Old English Bitter , Strong Bitter

 As you are all aware the VAT is now 17.5% so we have decided to offer you a VAT FREE  beer recipe

 OG 1044   FG 1010  Abv 4.4%  EBU 35

Mash at 66c for 1 hr ½   in 11 litres of water

Crushed Pale Malt  3.500 Kg

Crystal Malt 140g

Torrified Wheat 530g

Sparge with water at 72c to top up to 23 litres

 Boil for 1hr  Add

 

Magnum hops  15g    Start Of Boil

Admiral hops   18g    Start Of Boil

Add 1/2 Tsp protafloc or irish moss at last 10 mins of boil 

Goldings hops 23g   last 5mins of boil for aroma

cool to 23c add nottingham ale yeast
