Domestic - Dual Purpose hop bittering/Aroma type cultivar first released in 2000. Simcoe is a unique American hybrid. Although it is primarily a bittering hop, it’s clean, pine-like aroma and a taste with a slight hint of citrus. It is less astringent than other pine-like hops and has been highly sought after to make distinctive and unique Pale Ales.

One of the most popular hops, imparts a typically english hop character and blends well with Goldings, improving the overall roundness and fullness of the hop character.

This hop contributes all the essential characteristics of flavour, aroma and balanced bitterness particularly as its low alpha acid. Delicate, minty, grassy slightly floral aroma.
Aroma hop. Coarser in flavour than Goldings.

The variety is very suitable both as a general kettle hop and also for late and dry hopping in all types of beer. First Gold has good aroma and bittering qualities, much of the flavour of WGV seems to have been retained but with an added extra citrus quality, produces a well-balanced bitterness and a fruity, slightly spicy note in ales. An orangey quality has been observed in many beers brewed using this variety.

H Tradition Hops 100grm

A close descendant of Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, bred for disease resistance at the Hüll Hop Research Institute in Germany. Related to Hallertau Mittelfruh. Very refined, sweet aroma. The aromas of this hop include: raisin and plum as well as having chocolate and grassy notes. Use for aroma and flavor additions in German lagers.
